Because of its porous surface, Howlite is used as a substitute for other minerals. It can soak up enough dye to make it resemble many other semi-precious stones. As a result, fewer stones are mined.

Note: All bracelets are custom & handmade & made with stretchy jewlery cord. No hassle with clasps.

Kukui Nuts

The Kukui (koo-koo-e) Nut tree is the state tree of Hawaii. Kukui nuts consist of 50% oil. The nuts are polished, drilled & coated to preserve them."Lava" Kukui nuts fall from the tree & lose their oil. They naturally turn black & white in color. Kukui nut leis are worn for weddings, graduations, luas, all significant celebrations. They represent light in Hawaiian culture. I use a needle to thread the hallow beads on strong stetchy jewelry cord for my necklaces & bracelets.
